How Often Do You Visit?

My numbers have been up rather sharply lately.   Visitors to the site are up almost 50% in the last month.   Based on the analytics, I’m getting visitors from all over the place.   I’m not sure why they are going up.  I haven’t done anything different.  I haven’t been linked to by TechnCrunch, Fred Wilson or Seth Godin.   :)

This got my wondering — who reads my blog and how often.

I can get a decent idea of who reads this blog through the Mybloglog widget on the right. I like to see who the recent readers are especially when a mini celebrity swings by.  It’s fun.   But that only tells part of the story.

I’m also curious how often you all read this blog.  Is it once a week, a couple of times a week etc.   I figured I’d take a little Poll to find out.  I put it in the side bar.  Let me know how often you visit.

If you want to be super crazy, share why you visit in the comments.   I’ll make sure I keep doing that.

    Keenan,

I enjoy your perspective. You write about your thought du jour and it's interesting (to me at least) to appreciate that it comes from a SVP of sales/marketing.

    Bad-assery from a bad ass. :-)

I visit for two reasons, I find your view point is alway well presented, so even when I may not agree, I enjoy the read. Second, When I see an interesting title in your tweetstream, I come by and visit.

Bad-assery, that's what I should have named the blog. :) thanks Dan!

What? You don't always agree with me? Don't believe it! Thanks Tibor! :)

I just like keeping your crazy ass in check :) … Or wait, my crazy ass? Whatever, I just like reading folks passionate about their work.

Well, I read often because I like you and what you have to say and we're doing a book together :) But I've noticed you popping up in my social net more and more, passively, and I'm guessing your increased interactions are helping your site grow.

    Since you asked…

I can't even remember how I found your blog. No doubt it was something said on Twitter that led me here.

When I find something I like on a blog, I subscribe to the RSS feed on my iPad. It saves time compared to clicking on individual sites to see if anything is new.

Usually once a day as I'm relaxing on the recliner, I have my RSS reader (NewsRack for anyone interested) go through about 80 sites I follow (personal and business), then I scan headlines for things that interest me.

And that's probably a good lesson for all of us who have blogs… pay attention to your article titles. It needs to stand out and be clear when people like me are scanning through the list.

I read because you have short, easy-to-read posts with good info. It is that “complicated” for me.

    :)

Complicated is over rated. Thanks Jmarkdr!

    Jim,

I visit because your view deals with reality. You always seem to bring in real stuff and that is what really matters.

    Thanks,

    Jon

Hi, I saw your name in a post by Jaq Baldwin of The Swift Current. He also mentioned my friend @TarynP in Atlanta, and I probably linked to his post from something she wrote on Facebook or Twitter. (Are we really supposed to recall our “reverse link surfing”??)

I have subscribed now; your easy-to-read blog has a refreshing style, and I am intrigued with the “asset of the future”. Thanks!
