Door to Door Sales People

I thought this type of selling was all but dead. With the exception of a few poor souls slinging Internet or cable services for ATT and Comcast, I was under the impression door to door sales people were a thing of the past.

It looks like I’m wrong. At least that’s what Kristen from ITV Productions is telling me and she and her company want to make a TV show about them.

Kristen reached out to me yesterday after finding this blog and was looking for help finding these elusive sales people.  Elusive that is, until they show up on your door step. I told her these type of sales people were long gone and a thing of the past. But, she corrected me and said they are out there and she wants to find them.

Kristen and ITV Productions are looking for the best door to door sales people to make a TV Show. This is the casting announcement;

    Ah. This is what I call “in person spam”!

    Matt, LOL!

    I’m intrigued to see if she finds any of these people.

    When’s the last time you had a door to door salesman show up at your door?

    Just find a new Edward Jones advisor…that’s how they ALL start out! Door-to-Door

    Someone shows up at the front reception door to the office once every week or two like this. Home, not so much.

    I read an article recently about the last Fuller Brush salesman in SF. He is still knocking on doors (although it’s business doors) in SF.

    On googling for that article I found this – another Fuller Brush salesman knocking on home doors. http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/fuller-brush-salesman-still-pounding-the-pavement-4d6k3ni-167629185.html

    The local newspaper showed up recently. I have a rather smarmy no soliciting sign, so I was not amused at his ignoring it. I also had a local politician ignore it because he “wasn’t selling anything.” I pointed out he was selling lies.

    He was not amused.

    I read about this guy in Pink’s new book. He has an interesting story.

    TV has become all about putting someone who is bad at something in front of a camera and asking them to do that thing. Result #fail! This blog is the opposite. Kristin should read your “there is no excuse for not knowing”
